James adds 4th British title to CV!
25th April 2005
20 year old single seater racing driver and rising star James
Gornall from Werrington Peterborough, has added yet another British
title to his ever increasing tally.

Racing with his teammates in the Oxford Brookes University Kart
Team, James and his colleagues have just won the UK University
British Karting title for the 2nd year running. Racing against 50
other teams from around the country, many of whom include other
rising single seater stars of the future like James, they won 3 of
the 6 rounds championship at kart circuit venues across the country
to win the title.
A delighted James said, “ We won this championship for Oxford
Brookes University last year for the first time, and were determined
to retain the title, again, a first for any University to date. We
did have a few dramas at the last round, which meant I couldn’t
afford to make any errors in my race. I started 28th on the grid and
won. A pleasing result! We are all very chuffed”
James, who has already been honoured by the University for his
contribution to the Motorsport division, will be going to America in
May, with the Formula Student team, to drive the Oxford Brookes
single seater car in the World Championships. “ I am really looking
forward to the event” said James “ it would be great if we could
bring that title back for the UK as well. We’ll have to wait and
see!”
When asked about progress for this year, James commented “ we are
still trying to finalise budgets in order for me to enter the
championship I want to race in and are hoping this can be achieved.
There is lots going on at the moment, and I am very excited about my
future involvement with Lloyds TSB Private Banking for whom I am now
an Ambassador. I will be at the Goodwood festival of Speed in June
and hope to be racing a car on the famous hill section. I’m also
expecting The Real Shaving Company promotion to start shortly, and
as I’m the face of the new product, you should see me up and down
the high street nationally very soon!”
