“This will be the first time I’ve driven a big GT car in this championship and I’m really looking forward to it. I have to say I’m especially delighted by the support from Lloyds TSB, and Martin Braybrook of ‘Brookspeed- Team Trimite’ for giving me the chance to drive the incredible Dodge Viper, and for the help of Robin Mortimer of RPM ”. Says James. “ The car is an 8.3 ltr V10 producing 520bhp,capable of 0-60 in 3.5 seconds! I will get the opportunity to familiarize myself with the car during practice on Friday, and we will be racing on both Saturday and Sunday. It will be great to be working with the team and driving a front running car”

This is clearly a major step forward for the local racing driver hero, who has put so much effort into his career and results so far, and already has several British Championships under his belt. Over the last 12 months James has been coaching young drivers whilst seeking support for his own career, and acting as Ambassador for LloydsTSB Private Banking at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

“GT racing has huge appeal and is incredibly competitive and exciting” says James. “ This is where I want to be with my career at present and I am looking to secure the support for a challenge on the title in 2008. I think the appeal is that the cars racing out on the track look the same as the ones you can drive on the road, and people can therefore relate to them more. Albeit they are a little quicker!”

James hopes the local fans will get to Rockingham, Corby, as it is close to Peterborough and would be delighted to see you there. If you venture along on either day over the weekend make sure you catch up with James, he will be pleased to see you.
